Assalamu alaikum,
Over the past month, we have aggressively tackled the Masjid construction by hiring contractors and committing to large required projects. The progress is very obvious but is also taxing on our funds and those involved in the construction.
Insha Allah the painting and trim work will be completed by Sunday, 5/18. The carpet will Insha Allah be installed by Tuesday, 5/20. We are also starting the parking lot with the hopes of having a gravel parking lot of size 100 feet x 100 feet ready for Ramadan. This is a lead in for a permanent asphalt parking lot in a couple of years (we cannot afford such a project at this time).
These projects have left the Masjid funds in our bank account to just short of $1,000. Alhamdulillah, we have a couple of brothers whom generously donated towards the parking lot and towards the carpeting. The parking lot, by the grace of Allah, will cost around $4,500. This is subject to increase a bit due to material pricing that fluctuates almost daily.
The Masjid will be from this point forward struggling to pay the bills as we have fallen well below our limit. We have all given much to Allah’s Masjid but we now need to muster up and find a way to give a little bit more.
ICLP will be commencing with a membership drive over the next couple of weeks. As a community, we used to have memberships and that helped us grow. Membership is also a voting requirement for board and committee positions in ICLP. Please keep an eye out for an envelope from ICLP over the next 2 weeks with details and the membership form.
