Assalamu alaikum,
We will be having another halaqah this coming Monday, October 31st at 6pm at the masjid. We will meet for prayers at 6pm with the halaqah to follow. This halaqa will have a guest speaker, Aisha Rahman from KARAMAH, joining us for the halaqah with one of her colleagues. Students from St. Mary’s College will also be joining us from Sister Betul’s class.

Join KARAMAH: Muslim Women Lawyers for Human Rights for a round table discussion about Islam’s commitment to democracy, civic engagement, and gender equity. KARAMAH’s staff attorneys will give an overview of these concepts from an Islamic perspective and will give analysis on these matters from a modern angle. The remainder of the evening will be a discussion among community members and students.
We will be joined by Aisha Rahman, Executive Director and Qasim Rashid, Director of Civil Rights and Policy, ISA.
