Eid ul-Fitr Community Party 2013

Assalamu Alaikum,

We are in the process of planning the Eid party for August 18th from 1130-530pm.

This will be a potluck event and we will need sponsors for the following dishes:

Please contact Kareema at 561-870-8225 to let her know what dish you will be sponsoring. We will need to plan well so that we don’t end up with multiple dishes of the same thing. This information will be available on our website later this week as well.

1. Faika and Nabiha will be a hosting a build your bear activity for the kids. Each bear will cost $22 and part of the proceeds will go to benefit the masjid. The kids will stuff their own bears which will include a t-shirt that can be decorated at the party.

FAIKA WILL NEED TO ORDER THESE BEARS BY THIS COMING FRIDAY, AUGUST 9TH. PLEASE CONTACT FAIKA AT (301)412-0883 TO ORDER YOUR BEAR.

2. Kids gift exchange (please bring a wrapped gift worth $10 to participate)

3. Surah Recitation (Surah Ikhlas will be the surah to recite from memory this year. If a tie-breaker is needed, Surah Nas will be used. Be sure to practice with your kids)

4. Bring a plain t-shirt for your kids to decorate. We will supply the stencils and markers.

Gift exchange (please bring a wrapped gift worth around $15 to participate).  The gift exchange will be ‘white elephant’ style. Try and plan for unisex type gifts if you can since the gifts can be taken by men or women.  White elephant style means that you get a number and when your number is chosen you get to choose a gift from the pile.  That gift can be taken from you by the remaining people who still have to choose.  Gifts can be ‘taken’ only twice before they are off the market.

We will need a few dedicated brothers and sisters to help with setup and then break down after the party inshallah.
