Assalamu alaikum,
We will have our community Eid potluck on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 12 pm at the ICLP Masjid. We are planning to have the gift exchange again this year with the price range of $10 – $15. The exchange is for teens and up. Please consider bringing gifts for your children to give to them at the party.
Families are encouraged to sign up for dishes at the Masjid. The dishes are:
plain rice –

chicken curry – Faika Kasmani
korma (meat) –

vegetable dish –
salad – Nabiha Kasmani
naan –
dessert – Eid Mubarak sheet cake – Kareema Mohomed
fruits –
Please sign up for a dish, or bring any dish you want. Also, for those that want to enter, bring your favorite dessert for the dessert competition.
Dessert Rules:
Must be homemade (no store bought)
Absolutely no ingredients that contain alcohol (that means most vanilla extract). Alcohol does not completely cook out (this is proven).
Desert will be graded by 5 volunteers:
1. Presentation (how does it look) – 1 to 5 points
2. Texture (too mushy, too dry, too weird…) – 1 to 5 points 3. Taste – 1 to 5 points
4. Creativity – 1 to 5 points
Tie breaker:
5. In the case of a tie: Difficulty – 1 to 3 points
6. Still tied: Smell – 1 to 3 points
Quran Competition- crowd will judge:
Ages 4-9: Al Fatiha Surah 1, 7 verses
Ages 10-15: Al ‘Adiyat Surah 100, 11 verses
Ages 16-19: Al-Alaq Surah 96, 19 verses
